How to Generate DHL API Credentials for Shipment Tracking

To enable real-time DHL shipment tracking within your LateShipment.com dashboard, follow these instructions to create a DHL Developer account and retrieve your API Key and Secret.

Step 1: Access the DHL Developer Portal

• Visit https://developer.dhl.com
  
  

• If you already have an account, log in using your credentials.
  
  

• If you’re new to the portal, sign up for a free developer account.
  
  

Step 2: Navigate to Your Developer Dashboard

• After logging in, click on your profile icon in the top-right corner (usually a humanoid icon).
  
  

• It will redirect you to the app's page.

Step 3: Create a New App

1. Click “Create App”.
   
   

2. Enter a name and a description for your app (e.g., Product Shipments, Shipment Tracker, etc.).
   
   

3. In the API listing section, Select: “Shipment Tracking – Unified”and click the plus (+) icon to add it to your app.
   
   

4. Click “Create App.”

Step 4: Retrieve Your API Credentials

• Your newly created app will now appear in your dashboard.
  
  

• Click “Edit” on the app.
  
  

• Inside, click on “Show Key” to view your:
  
  

  • API Key
    
    

  • API Secret

Please copy both and email them to us at support@lateshipment.com

Step 5: Increase the API Rate Limit (Optional but Recommended)

By default, DHL grants 50 tracking requests per day for new accounts. To increase this limit:

1. Click “Upgrade Rate Limit” in the app settings.

Fill out the form with the following information:

• DHL Customer Name
  
  

• DHL Customer ID
  
  

• Country and Contact Number
  
  

• Purpose of API Use: e.g., Track my own shipments
  
  

• Estimated API Calls per Day: (e.g., if you ship 100 packages/day and track each 5 times → 500 calls/day)
  
  

• Frequency of Tracking: (e.g., 3 times per shipment)
  
  

• Tracking Platform: LateShipment.com
  
  

• Your Full Name
  
  

• Business Name
  
  

• Nature of Business
  
  

2. Click Submit once the form is complete.
   
   

Final Step: Share Your Credentials

Please email the following to support@lateshipment.com:

• API Key
  
  

• API Secret
  
  

This will allow us to complete the DHL tracking integration for your shipments.
